Today I took Grandpa to see his neurologist. He was told that the problems in his neck have been there for some time but the accident aggravated everything and has caused nerve & muscle damage. He will be starting therapy 3 x a week to try and get some strength back in his arm & legs.
We had to go to West Palm Beach to see this Dr. He is in a very exclusive & fancy neighborhood. The parking lot is actually decorated with lush greenery & beautiful bronze statues of children. We kind of feel out of place there, but it is very pretty to look at. After we went there, we went to lunch at the chinese buffet. I thought it was excellent but Grandpa didn't care for it.
Grandma is doing pretty well but says that her nose was hurting today. She goes Monday to see if they can take the stitches out. Last night we watched Idol and pretty much picked who would win. I really like the guy with the glasses. I think he will be in the top 3 if not win.
Well, I better go check on Grandpa. He is trying really hard to get some strength back. He had me follow him in the golf cart while he walked down two lots and back. He was so proud of himself. When we got back he told Grandma "Honey, I made it all the way down to Penny's & back". He sounded like a little kid wanting praise. This was a big accomplishment for him since he has been having a hard time just getting from the chair to the dinner table. After he got back he rested for a few minutes and then went out to the shed to work on his bird clock. ( The one he is making for Grandma.) It will be one of his prettiest ones yet & he is trying so hard to get it finished.
